“I’d see these moms out and about and it seemed so easy for them,” says Frank. ’ I was going to the park and on these mom hikes and even, once, to some baby yoga event in the pouring rain. There was this other mom there, with lots of tattoos, and I knew when I saw her that she was the one.” Last week, Frank, who has a popular WNYC-produced podcast, “The Longest Shortest Time,” hosted a Mommy Speed Date event at the Bell House in Gowanus, designed to help new mothers meet and make friends with other moms.
“I had a couple of requirements for my mom friends,” says Frank.
And judging from how genuinely pleased the women all seemed to be meeting each other, if romantic dating in New York were this easy, there would be no problem.
Plus, as any veteran of the dating scene knows, all of this is a numbers game — and all it takes is one.
After the whirlwind mama meetings, each participant will receive the emails of her new mom friends.
