Vista time not updating Lava hookup

Hi theres alot of activity going on around the windows updater, but all the questions in this forum show an error when windows tries to update using 'windows updater', my issue doesn't.

To give you exactly what is happening to me; first I noticed that it wasnt updating so i opened up 'windows updater' and it says: " Always install the latest updates to enhance your computer's security and performance" So I press 'Check for updates' - it then says Checking for updates with the green loader bar below.

OS: Windows Vista 32 Bit Home Premium I am unable to install recent Windows Vista updates because the updater hangs at "Checking for updates". and "Most recent checks for updates" says "never" ... which I assume is the reason for the "never" labels mentioned above. I used file "Windows Update Agent30-x86.exe" with the /wuforce switch and ran it from a HDD not containing the OS. "Troubleshoot problems with installing updates" I ran the Fix It tool ... If not, you can try to download and install it manually: https:// Later you can enable it again if you want.) Edited by devilus, 22 April 2016 - AM.

Attempts to fix the problem seems to have made the problem worse. and it fixed a couple of things but didn't fix error code 0X80070057 4. Having the same problem and pursuing similar solutions with out success, I tried downloading the recommended update for my Vista Home Premium SP2 64 bit OS.

Over the lastseveral months, I've gotten updates from Windows. Theytalk a lot about it being a malware problem or other security problem, but trying all kinds of malware removers, including Malware-bytes andeven Windows Defender has not fixed the problem. I found that AVG's paying plant worked the best, plus I ran quick restore on my computer, after emptying cache, history, cookies, and the lot of other temporary items.

Typically I haveabout 19-20 updates that will not install. Please be as detailed as possible when providing a solution. Things work better when your machine has been streamlined.

I’ve had the best luck with gov, but that might be because of my location.
